Improvisational<\/h4>\t\t\t

Jazz in Sweden<\/h4>\t\t\t

Ever since 1972, with the group Sevda, the Jazz in Sweden award has been the main Swedish forum for young jazz musicians and groups to present themselves to the outside world. The award resulted in a recording and a tour in Sweden and abroad, under the direction of Rikskonserter.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>

Since the beginning of the 1990s the producer Sten Sandahl and Caprice Records, in collaboration with SIDA’s cultural department (the Swedish International Development Authority), has issued music from different continents. Focuses on a developing country with interesting and relatively unknown music<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Musica Sveciae\/Folk Music in Sweden<\/h4>\t\t\t

A series consisting of 28 CDs which for the most part comprises re-mastering of documentary folk music recordings. Here you can hear the “classical” Swedish Radio folk music recordings of the 1950s and 60s and the Caprice series Folkmusik i Sverige<\/em> produced together with Svenskt visarkiv (The Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research). <\/p><\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>

Royal Swedish Opera Archives<\/h4>\t\t\t

Starting in 2002, Caprice Records has produced, in collaboration with the Royal Swedish Opera, a series of ten volumes of previously unreleased recordings from the Stockholm Opera performances in the 1950s and '60s, featuring most of the leading Swedish singers and conductors.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>

Swedish Jazz History<\/h4>\t\t\t

The History of Swedish Jazz 1899\u20131969 is an anthology of ten volumes compiled by the \u201cjazz archaeologists\u201d Jan Bru\u00e9r and Bengt Nyquist. The series is produced together with Svenskt visarkiv (The Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research).<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>

In the 1970\u2019s many young folk-musicians in Sweden took an interest in the local traditions. S\u00e1me Jiena<\/h4>\t\t\t
S\u00e1me Jiena is a recording series based on the musicologist, stationmaster, artist, and violin maker Karl Tir\u00e9n\u2019s unique, and more than a hundred years old, recordings Sami traditional singing (joik), storytelling, and other verbal traditions. The recordings were commissioned by the Swedish Museum of Natural History\u2019s ethnographic department, and were recorded between 1913 and 1915.<\/div>\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>
